Stay Basically Clean Of
Zooms
-
Static shots. Shoot statics first, then zooms and moves as alternates.
-
Basic sequences. Whenever possible, shoot a wide shot, medium shot,
closeup, and cutaway. Change angle and image size for each shot.
-
Clean entrances and exits. Entering or leaving a location. Picking
up or putting down. Pointing.
-
Overlapping action. Repeat last action of wide shot at beginning
of following closeup. Do the same for any two connected shots.
-
Zoom during producer's interview questions. Try to have a different
image size for each answer. This helps in the editing.
===========
-
Learn from your experience. Wait a week and review your work. Ask
the producer, the editor, and others to critique you. Decide what worked,
what didn't work, and why. As a professional, you want to repeat your successes,
and not repeat your mistakes.
