Each time your light changes, white balance (and black balance if you have
this feature).
Before each shot, zoom all the way in to check focus.
On a tripod, shoot a basic sequence of a person reading a book. Include:
Wide shot (establishing shot)
Medium shot
Closeup
Cutaway
Try to change your camera angle at least 45 degrees between shots.
